Plan of Salvation and the Work of Gathering

In this section, we learn about leaving things behind for something greater. The Saints were asked to leave their homes and farms behind and gather to Ohio to try to escape persecution. Some of the Saints didn’t understand why they needed to leave, so the Lord gives explanation these sections.

We also meet James Covel, a man who heard about the church and initially wanted to get baptized. The Lord gives him a revelation, but in the end, the temptations of man get the better of him and he rejects the call to be baptized.
