Our Christmas Giveaway!- The Red Headed Hostess
Today is a good day! We are giving away a combination of: John Hilton III and Brad Wilcox’s new book: 52 Life-Changing Questions From the Book of Mormon and my 2014 Come Follow Me Study Guide!
Isn’t that exciting? I think this is a great prize!
Here is a little about each book and below is how you can enter to win!
52 Life-Changing Questions From the Book of Mormon:
I have this book and I LOVE it. One page in and you will be so happy you have it. I have learned things from this book that have stayed on my mind and I find myself thinking of again and again. – and I have learned that is proof that you have been taught well.
Here is part of the description found in Deseret Book’s site (I think this is a GREAT description!):
Where can we find questions that will awaken us out of those mental—and spiritual—doldrums? Popular authors John Hilton III and Brad Wilcox help us recognize and ponder fifty-two powerful questions from the Book of Mormon—one for each week of the year. One short chapter each week has the power to change your life.
- Have miracles ceased?
- Have ye inquired of the Lord?
- Have ye spiritually been born of God?
- Know ye not that ye are in the hands of God?
Joseph Smith promised that we would get nearer to God through the Book of Mormon than through any other book. Pondering its inspired questions can propel us forward to attain that promise.
I use this book along with my study of the Book of Mormon and I find it to be a really useful resource. In fact, I keep this book in my scripture study drawer.
You can read a sample chapter HERE (just click on “excerpt) and I warn you that you will definitely want this book after you read it!
2014 Come Follow Me Study Guide
This book will be released any day now! This book covers all of the 2014 lessons from the Come Follow Me Curriculum – and this makes excellent study material for anyone! There are 137 topics in this book. We included all of the scriptures, references to General Conference talks and other references, and spaces to write down what you learn. The great thing about this curriculum is that they are continually being updated – so there will be a lot of topics where you will study from this past General Conference. So everything is very relevant to what the leaders of the Church are currently talking about.
I will be studying from this book myself since I think these lessons are amazing! Just making this book had made a difference in my life – when these doctrines are on your mind it impacts your daily life. So, I cannot wait to actually dig in and study them in even more detail.
You can see more about this book HERE.
* This will be available in both a bound book and in a download. The downloadable format is currently available HERE.
Ok – one lucky winner will win both of these items.

Christmas is too great to stick around for only one month. So our Christmas tree goes up in December.
The tradition stems from what became our dad’s last Christmas in 2004. It was September and he asked if we could have the tree up early. The man who’s dying from a brain tumor gets whatever he wants, so with no argument whatsoever, the tree went up and stayed up for several months after Christmas.
We’ve put it up September first at the latest ever since.
I was able to teach some of these questions this year and I am so excited to get to do it again in 2014, only better 😀

Our favorite Christmas tradition is to get a BIG subway sandwich on Christmas Eve and then do the nativity and sing Christmas carols!
A tradition that our family has done for years and we still carry on even though our children are all grown and gone, is to pixie a family. We decide on a family that is in need and we purchase various items that help them, toys for kids, clothes, food and what ever is fun. We gather the items and put names on them and put it all in a large Santa bag and leave it on their door step, ring the bell and run very quickly down the road to hide. We leave a note stating our testimony of Christ and how much they care loved. Running away is always the most fun so we don’t get caught. This year we are pixieing total strangers that we have observed that needs help. I can’t wait….
