Hannah Turns ONE! The Red Headed Hostess
It was my Hannah Joy’s birthday yesterday, and all of you mother’s out there know all of the mixed emotions I went through…
I mean, I am so happy to see her healthy, and growing, and becoming this amazing little person.
But, STOP GROWING SO FAST!
I can’t believe it has ONLY been a year – what was life like before her? Did that ever happen? Hasn’t she been here with us for much longer than that?
And… it has ALREADY been a year?
I’ve always sort of chuckled at 1st birthday parties… until I was a momma of a little girl turning one. I just couldn’t help myself – I just wanted to seize every moment with her.
And she only turns one once. And two… and three… oh no – this is going to get pricey.
Since our ice cream store is closed on Sundays, we gathered our family there and had the place all to ourselves. Such a major bonus to having our own place!!!
By the way – did any of you see us on Shark Tank a few weeks back? Our founder was on there.
We pulled out the family recipes and made a lot of non-gluten free food that I couldn’t eat. 🙂
I seriously have been gathering things for months for this party. I mean those cups! LOVE them. Zurchers is where I found those gems.
These were her cake. Little teddy bear cupcakes.
We found these in this book.
It was a pretty big space to decorate, but Ashley helped me out by creating a birthday girl package that will be available on the download store in the next couple of days.
That banner was part of it. I LOVED it and it was SO easy to put together. Just cut and tape.
Same with these cupcake toppers. Cut and tape.
This little crown was also part of the package.
- I just printed it onto iron on transferrable paper (just through my printer!). (Oh and I told my printer to print it on a 5 x 7 size so that it was smaller for her head – the actual size is twice what you see above – so great to have options!)
- Then I ironed it onto white fabric and cut around it
- I cut out a back that matched the front
- Then placed batting between them
- Sewed it shut (seam showing)
- Embroidered it along the yellow lines
- I would have added embellishments like jewels – but she puts everything into her mouth, so maybe later.
- Then I added a little feather boa and put it on a yellow lace elastic.
This is Hannah in the middle of her presents. This picture doesn’t even show how spoiled she got.
But this one does.
I love this girl.
Happy Birthday Hannah Joy!! She is adorable and I can’t believe she is one already.
What a sweetheart! Congratulations! 1 is fun!
Ohhhhh! She’s so beautiful and sweet!!!!!! Happy birthday, Hannah!!! I love the cute party you put together too!! SO fun!!!
Happy Birthday Hannah! What a fun day.
Any idea when you’ll have the study guides ready for download for the Sunday School curriculum (April through June)? I’ve been checking back to get them ready for our SS kids, but haven’t been able to find them yet. Thanks for any info! Love your site and all your great ideas. Thanks!
